This red oak plywood bookcase is in the basement, with the faceframe glued and clamped and drying. I would like some suggestions of an easy to apply finish option, and something that maintains more or less the natural red oak color. I have recently used BLO on a few projects (walnut, not r. oak) and like the results but I'm open to other ideas. It'll be in a kids room, so I'd like something durable. Right now the best idea I have is BLO (dried adequately, of course) with Polyurethene topcoat. Oh, and what about sanding sealer? Is that necessary on the plywood too?

I'm pretty new to all of this obviously...
