I will be making a quick trip from Fergus Falls, Mn area to the Sheboygan, Wi area next week. Are there any wood related things I might be able to see along the way in Wisconsin such as small sawmill operations or wood venders, etc? I will be on I94 as long as possible and then on 2 lane roads

http://www.vikwood.com/ -- Specializing in exotic wood - with a focus on guitars - in Sheboygan WI.

http://www.baileigh.com/ -- is in Manitowoc WI - maker of industrial equipment - I see it from I-43, but not sure if they have a store or other public access. That maybe too far north for you to go.

There are a lot of pallet manufacturing companies in northern WI, but I suspect that is not your focus :-)

If you have a chance, go to Kettle Moraine Hardwoods. It's not far from Sheboygan, just north of where County Rd K crosses 41 near Cedar Lake.

The Baileigh location in Manitowoc does have a showroom of sorts. When I was there it was basically just an open space in their warehouse but they do have quite a number of their woodworking offerings assembled on the floor. They will give you a free Baileigh baseball cap just for stopping in.:D
