Here's the 2nd build to come out of the laundry closet hand tool workshop haha: a charcuterie board. What's unique about this one is it's the first project I build with wood I dimensioned by hand. It's also the first non-tool build as my first one was a mallet: https://sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?260489-First-Hand-Tool-Build-Joiner-s-Mallet-in-Ash

Anyways, following are some images of the process:

I had to google charcuterie to realize that it is a cutting board. :)
It is a gorgeous board.

More of a presentation (display) board.

Yes exactly ;)

I made it for my parent's anniversary. The maple came from their back yard and was a tree that my father used to tap to make syrup!

But...it had to be cut down so he decided to get it milled and dried for woodworking.

Very nicely done and even includes some history.

Maybe a cheese or pate knife to match? Those don't require a very hard steel so cheap to make.

Good stuff all the way around Tate - laundry workshop, Workmate bench, minimal tools resulting in clean work, wood that ties to the recipient, very likely soon to be invited to partake of good food off of the gift..... no down side anywhere I can see.

Thanks folks!

I truly hope I get invited to eat some food off of it...and soon!
