Hello,

I picked up this old Keen Kutter at a garage sale and have never seen one like it before. Here are the specifics:

- Blade measures 19 3/4" (taper ground)
- Etch shows EC Simmons Keen Kutter, but not the typical KK wedge logo
- Has nib
- Has original older style recessed medallion with single bit ax logo.
- Has older looking handle
- Still has one original sawnut -- narrow style shaft (not split nut)

I am curious as to age and model, and why there is no typical wedge logo. I posted this on the woodwork forums site as well, but so far no solid answers.

Thanks,
Dave

The Disstonian site can give a likely time frame from the saw nuts. When there was an improvement in saw nuts every maker tended to go with the newer style.

People didn't likely harken back pining for the old days like we do now.

Disston made a saw called the IMP.....which they would also custom etch for anyone in the business of selling saws.

During their 1928 line-up changes, the nib went away, handles were a tad boxier....
