I am about to use and spray Endo-Var for the first time on a cherry chest of drawers. The chest is prefinished with Charle Neil's blotch control. I want to end up with a satin finish. Should I apply gloss coats before the final satin coat, or should I spay all 3 coats with the satin? Also, is any sanding required between coats? Thanks for any help.

I would spray at least one coat of gloss and only the final one or two coats with satin. I often use two coats of satin EnduroVar w/o problems, but with 3 coats it can start to look a little like plastic. I always scuff sand between coats with 400 or 600 grit, just enough to take off any dust nibs.

Always scuff sand between coats no matter what clear you use. It's the only way to end up with a smooth finish. I don't use this product but John knows his stuff. Cheers
