Powermatic CD 16 planer

A friend of mine has a Powermatic CD 16 planer that he will sell me for $400.00 dollars.l have a north state 15" planer now that was made in Taiwan.The north state planer is ok but I am thinking that the Powermatic would be a good upgrade.parts availability for the Powermatic are a concern I've been told that parts are not available for it.I would like some opinions about this

The big problem is the motor sticks way out on one side. this makes it about 12" wider then a delta of similar size. Other then that I no nothing about it. It seems too wide for my shop so I stopped my research on the powermatic at that point.
