Thirty or forty years ago, I read Popular Mechanics magazine and later Popular Woodworking.

The latter is under new ownership. The first issue of Popular Mechanics took about thirty minutes to go though.
The first issue of Popular Woodworking came and it took about 45 minutes to read.
I am sure hoping that both magazines improve on their content.

Face it Lowell - magazines aren’t what they used to be since the advent of online content.

I don’t subscribe to anything unless it’s a $5/yr kind of thing, and that’s just to look at some tool porn for the most part.

Picked up a copy of FWW while waiting in line a Lowes today. When I picked it up, I thought "where is the rest of the magazine?" I'm down to just WoodSmith, and Wood. Got Wood on one of those multi year deals. I look at the tips in others while waiting in line at BORGS. Same thing goes for my collection of cook books. I thinning them out, as there are so few recipes that I will actually use. Let someone else store them.

Back a few years ago, when Popular Science went through a phase of wanting to be
pop Electronics, I gave up on it. Renewed because it was cheap recently..............last time.

Pop Mechanix was my favorite magazine, but has also become a mere shadow, full of ads disguised as buying guides, and very short how to articles. When my subscription runs out, I am done there also if its more than $5.

Not into hand tools, so Pop Wood was never on my list.

Since Woodsmith has changed hands, it seems to be hanging in there, but they keep inventing ways to make books of their old articles, and trying to sell us 'extra video content'. I still think it is the best mag for me, though. Hope it continues.

Don't like the way they redid the TV show though. But again, I will watch ANY wood working show that's on.

I like to read through all kinds of magazines. Not just woodworking.
Like others I just order a subscription when its a deal. Like 3 years for $20 or digital on my Amazon kindle.
Not sure why they charge so much for a magazine at the store. Nothing for a single issue to cost $8.
I would buy a lot more single issues at the store if they were $3 or $4
