I usually hangout at the woodturners site. But, I have a question about a Stanley Bailey #4 plane that I have owned for around fifty years. It was made in the USA and it has the red background around the word Stanley. Is there any way to date this plane? Thanks.

Based on your description of having owned the plane for around 50 years that’s what I would have guessed too. Hope it is still giving you decent service
