Wood ID Help - Aussie Burl?

I got this from an Aussie turner a long time ago. Lost contact with that person so I'm looking here for help. I am assuming it's some sort of Mallee Burl. But not sure if it is Blonde Mallee or Brown Mallee. The photos taken with my Iphone make it look a tad darker than it is in person.

Or, is it some other Aussie burl wood?

Ted, thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure it's not red mallee as it is no where near as red as a red mallee piece I finished last fall.

I should have added these photos yesterday too. These are photos of the piece before adding the first coat of finish.
