How much is a Jet Shaper Worth (Model #JWS-18 HO?)

I have a chance to purchase a Jet Shaper and would like to know what is a good price to offer for it. There are no cutters included.
It is single phase, 115/230 with a one horse motor. Serial Number is: 5062798. Stock # 708319
It looks in decent shaper. It also has a very nice heavy duty dolly.

Hard to say without pictures. Does it have all the parts, spindles, etc. The similar Grizzly is $409, so I would say $200 max IF everything is there. Otherwise go with the Grizzly because you will have the warranty and you know you can get parts. I bought an old delta for $50 with some nice 3/4" grizzly cutters. Kept the cutters and sold the shaper after cleaning it up for $90.

Hi Gary, unless you're doing small items with very shallow profiles you won't be happy with that machine.

For average hobby use I would suggest a 3 HP machine with a 1 1/4" spindle......Regards, Rod.
