There is a chip in the outfeed table of the jointer I bought. It was hidden by the rust. :eek: Wondering if this will affect the performance. I would think it would be ok since it's not near the blades where most of the pressure is being put on the board.

You’re right. As long as there isn’t a raised spot don’t worry about it. Plenty of old jointers work just fine with chips, even at the cutterhead.

As long as it doesn't cause the board to twist, rock, or snag it won't affect anything, and it would have to be a huge chip to any of those.

You can fill it with metal filled epoxy. Devcon make a bunch.
