I just had to get it dirty. What am I making? A square piece of wood round, right?
Seriously, I was just playing with it and trying to get famaliar with all the knobs and whatnots.
This is the first Ridgid power tool that I was a little disappointed in. There is not any means of adjusing the belt tension. Come on Ridgid, one person can't pull on the motor, align the pulleys and tighten the bolts all at once.
After I accomplished that ordeal and put a Fenner link belt on it, I guess it did OK.
Now the picture thing???
And again.

Once the sawdust starts flying you are toast :D
Seriously I've only done the one bowl - but all I think about at work is how to make round things out of square wood. I stop in the middle of the road to check out interesting road kill & everyone's tired of hearing about my bowl :p

Sorry to hear about the belt situation - hopefully you can figure out a way around it - or at least to make it easier.

Have fun makin sawdust :D
