The plumb line for large scale work such as aligning hinge anchors381550 but I'm looking for the scaled down version with bob and line on a plank and what exactly that instrument is called in French.

In French, it is generally called "fil ŕ plomb". There might be a more specific name. I will research that.

Thanks André the instrument I am looking for is something between fil ŕ plomb and niveau de macon. Also the English name would be good to know as well.
