Well I've been sharpening my scrapers the normal way, but I was looking in one of my wood smith mags and it had an article on a jig they made for scrapers. I was at wood craft today saw it and decided to but it. Cost me ~57$ for it. When I got it I opened it up and it has everything needed in one box including the file shown in the pics AND a scraper. I have to say this is one slick system. it "assembled" in a minute and I was squaring, then smoothing then burring in about 2 minutes later. And as you can see in the pictures the output from this produced the beloved gossimer shavings. This system is SO much faster than the old way (although the traditional way isn' that time consuming) I have to say it was very cool to see something just perform. It's no secret that I'm a DMarks fan, and his technique for using a scraper to remove glue squeeze out is the only way to go ! Look at the glue squeeze out in the pre then the absence of it in the post scrape pics.
It was also awesome because both my son and daughter got to turn pens for free today at woodcraft which will be sent to the soldiers. They had a blast !!!!
So here are the pics.
