I would like some help in find a chip breaker for a Sargent 3415. Have had no luck with ebay or nhplaneparts. Finally found a lever cap, but need the chip breaker. If anyone can tell me a location, I would appreciate that very much. This is a lesson on looking over what you buy. Bought this plane when first getting into fettling hand planes. Thanks for any help.

Joe, I don't have a 3415 but do have a slightly wider 3416. I dropped in a blade/chip breaker from a same-width Stanley transitional # 27 and it fits and adjusts properly. There shouldn't be a problem finding a Stanley 2" chip breaker for a transitional (24, 26, 35) and I bet you won't be able to tell the difference from the Sargent part. Sorry, I don't have a spare.
