I am cleaning the rust off my tools in the shop here in Galveston County, Texas.
Harvey came through and created 33 inches of water. I measured the water line on the brick.

I have used Johnson's wax to prevent rust for years. There is no severe rust on the tools, there is some. I have a wire wheel on my bench grinder
and it takes the rust off to bright metal. I am coating the tools with Johnson's floor wax. I have auger bits, saws, hammers , chisels, screwdrivers - - - - .

You get he idea. I have always coated my hand tools with Johnson's wax, and it works. I did not lose any, just have to clean them up.
Tomorrow I will start making a bench on one wall.

I just thought I would share this for the new members of this forum.

How about mixing it with a lot of paint thinner and just. dipping stuff in it for 100% coating with a lot less effort. N ot for most stuff but cleaning up after a flood it might work good.
