I got a pile of this wood in a Killer deal a few years ago with a bunch of other exotic woods but i haven't been able to ID it.

I was surprised how well it planed........
Any Ideas?

Kind of looks like a piece of Eurpoean Lacewood I used to have...but that's just a guess...

There may be a few species that get called lacewood.
Woods with pronounced medullary rays can be used to make some beautiful objects.

I have some Australian Lacewood (Sheoak) that looks exactly like those pictures.
