HI,

Here are the pictures of recent project. It is a cherry double vanity, 58" long and 24" deep. The finish is a waterlox clear finish. The wood is cherry and it has dovertail drawers. The linen cabinet (48" high, 28 wide and 18 deep) is also cherry and will have doors with antique glass in them (glass is being installed by glazier). Hardware will be added once chosen by the customer.

Gail, nice clean lines. And it's cherry! What's not to like? :D :p Great job in continuing the grain across the drawer fronts and grain match all the way around. Thanks for showing it off.

Nice, very nice.
I like the grain selection/orientation. The bookmatched doors are a really nice visual.
Classic lines, and cherry. Very well done.

PS. If it were for me there would be no hardware. I'd have a finger pull ledge routed to the bottoms of the drawer edges. Personal preference though.

Once again. Nice work all around.

It's a great looking bathroom that deserves fine pieces like that. It's almost a shame to hide them in there - they look wonderful. They will provide lots of needed storage. I'm green with envy! Great work!!

Dovetailed drawers, eh Gail? Did you dust off the Akeda for that project? How was it? I have not used mine since I got it, a combination of not needing it at the present time and the quirkiness of the jig. Any tips for me, like under or oversized bits, technique, etc...?

Very nice work. I like seeing what the folks in America's hometown are buying.

Hey Gail.......those are wonderful! Jason beat me too it but I also noticed right off the good job you did matching the grains - both on the drawers as well as the panels in the doors! Definitely shows you have a good eye for detail which is easy to tell looking at your work! Man - you are bangin' 'em out girl....you are one busy lady!! Will ya just slow down a tad - you are making me tired! ;)

Gail,
Really nice job matching the grain. Very nice looking cabinet.

Does this get a sink and or top on it?

Again, good job.

I'm with the rest of the gang on this one, Gail. Excellent job, nice grain-matching and continuity, and overall just sweet as can be. It's no wonder you seem to get a steady flow of work.

Gail, it looks like you cut the top three drawers from the same board to get that flow of grain. It looks terrific. Great job!

I will definitely post when the doors are done. The glass place that I found does all the glass installation so that it's done right. I can't wait to see them myself. Next couple of days.

I am really pleased with this project and like all pictures, is better in person. The waterlox worked out as a great finish, easy to apply and smooth as glass. This has about 4 coats and in some places, like the top of the linen cabinet, 6. This one has the satin, but it also comes in gloss. I read a lot about it and learned some stuff on Waterlox.com

Yes, I became one with my Akeda finally. The secret was I took my time and I was determined to figure it out. Once set up I just used the standard bits and did not need to make any adjustments. I then made a master corner, wrote notes on it and put it away for next time. I also cut all three drawers the same night, so that the mysterious shop elf/messer upper wouldn't come in before morning and mess up my mojo.

The vanity will have a granite counter installed as well as 2 sinks. I will also photo when they have it done. The bathroom is done in all creamy tiles and the addition of the furniture warmed it right up.

Here are some more closeups and thanks for the kind words.

One more note, I was fortunate to find at my lumber supplier the cherry in 13" wide pieces, so the top run of drawer fronts (all false by the way) were cut down the center of a 13" board, a little waste for this part, but the sacrifice went a long way you will agree.

Gail---As usual, all of the bases are well covered. No problems with the mojo are evident at all!!!

Gail,

real nice work, it has a great flow with the grain, very appropriate in a bath setting! I'm sure the cherry looks even better in person.

Thanks for sharing.

I've been following this thread since you first put it up Gail, dumfounded as to what to say.

I still don't know what to say that already hasn't been said. :o

Wonderful work Gail. :) Looking forward to the pics with the doors in.:)

No harm there and actually an advantage...you can use the straight-grained material you remove from the edges for rails/stiles and/or other components. No waste and you get what you wanted for those outstanding (false) drawer fronts!
