This is "Immemorial Tree of Life" 15 1/2" D Cherry Platter.
Was hand drawn, hand carved and then the image burned.
Finish Tung Oil dried for several months then the work was done, after that Deft sanding sealer then sanded back to 800 grit and hand buffed w/ a cloth.

Just curious how how you got the rim and the body of the tree to be a shade darker than the recessed center section? Thanks Jared

Forgot to mention, very well done and a nice job on the carving/burning. I have been contemplating making something similar for some time but never got around to it.

Thanks Jared Jared Once the platter was turned I finished w/ Tung oil and let dry several months, Tung oil darkens the wood, then once carved the wood turns a lighter color to keep this color (hopefully) I used Deft sanding sealer. The burning highlights were added before the sanding sealer was added.
