The over the toilet cabinet I am starting to work on is not deep enough for drawer slides. I am thinking of using some UHMW tape on the drawer side bottoms to keep from wearing the finish off the bottom. What are your opinions, will it adhere to the drawer sides? Will it work, have you ever used it?

Thanks

I think it would stick best to a finished surface and would work fine. But I think it's not needed on such small drawers. I would just have wood to wood with a little wax .

I agree with Mel. Keep it simple. Wood and paste wax works.

Wax works so good. My tool drawers are made with rough sheathing grade plywood and they slide slick and smooth. Re-wax about every other year or so. Why make it more costly and complicated. Simple is best.

I would finsh with any extra finish you have laying around, then wax. If no finish, just wax. The dressers I made 30 years ago have finish and candle wax and work perfectly and no worse for the wear.

I love UHMW tape. Feels like ball bearings. Sticks easily.
