View Full Version : Honey, I need a new table saw...

While cutting some tapers, seemed as though I stressed out the motor. No undue nosies, binding of the blade or wood. Just stopped and started smoking...

In defense of the saw, I don't think it was made for the amount of wood I was cutting. I bought the cheapest one last Jan not knowing if I would like woodworking. It is, or was, a Sears item #00924884000. Nothing against Craftsman, I just think it got tired of cutting more wood than it was designed too. As I have fallen in love with ww, I will definitley be buying a bigger, badder machine. I will most likely buy another Craftsman, just a bigger one.

I snapped a picture in order to prove to the Finance Committee that it really did break, and I really do need a new one.

Be on the lookout for a forthcoming tool gloat...

Tom,

When I told my wife I needed (wanted) a new table saw - she told me to get a good one.

Of all the major cabinet saws on the market - she made me buy a Sawstop:)
