Hey gang! Not quite ready to finish my wooden gun case yet. Just trying to plan ahead.
What type of finish do you recommend? Construction will be walnut with a lazer engraved insert in the top of a contrasting wood (probably maple). Finish will need to be quite durable. I was think mostly of using spar urethane. (Should be good durability plus some weather resistance.) Is this a good choice? Any other suggestions?
Also, what would be your favored method to apply? 3 or more coats of brush on, many, many coats of wipe on, or several coats of spray on? I do have an HVLP sprayer plus one of those small "Critter" siphon spayers. (It actually works quite well on smaller projects I've done.)
Thanks for the advice.
