Watch a program about the Revolutionary War Period I notice some of the furniture. The beds specifically. Wondering what tools they used the turn? Also what speeds did they have available?

Do a Google search on "spring pole lathes" or treadle lathes. I've seen both used in videos.

I'm not old enough to have witnessed them used during that time period.:)
