Hey guys,

I need some help with info on an old Sheldon socket firmer chisel.

Who was Sheldon made by?
USA or UK?
When were they making stuff? Era?

Don't recall seeing that one. But there were a lot more labels than makers then, probably because the name of the actual maker could be kept unknown easier. Good luck ,and let know if you find the answer.

It's Sheldon..

The only thing I could dig up so far is a "G Sheldon" dating 1800-1840...

Looks fairly old - the stamp is misaligned and so looks like it was hand stamped rather than machine roll marked...

Yes, he could have been a blacksmith tool maker. Their work is often well known and collected in their locality and out side of that area picked up at bargain prices.
