Photos onto wood/Poly

Evening all,

I am transferring some photos onto wood using temporary tattoos. http://www.joann.com/silhouette-temporary-tattoo-paper-8.5inx11in-2%2Fpkg/13453840.html#q=temporary%2Btattoo%2Bpaper&start=1

The transfer worked great but now I want to apply a finish. Do you think a spray water based poly would work okay? I am worried about the finish ruining the transfer. Oil based poly or lacquer seems like the way to go but I have no way to ventilate other than doing it on my porch and it's about 30 degrees right now. I assume it would take forever to dry in those conditions.

My suggestion would be to test the product you want to use with the tattoo to see if it lifts or otherwise is affected. I suspect it will be fine with sprayed water borne since it dries quickly.
