I am building new vanity cabinets for my master bathroom. I used to always use epoxy coated self closing slides that I buy in bulk from Woodworker's Hardware. They work well, but lately I have been using the CompX Waterloo Full Extension 100lb slides on my projects as i like the ability to get into the back of the drawers and it lets me make the drawer fit tighter. The prices are great compared to most other brands and I have never had a single problem with them. I also like the fact that they seem to have less play in them compared to the epoxy ones, thus making aligning door and drawer fronts easier for my modern designs.

So I was checking my stock and found that I have an ample supply of the epoxy glides, but need to order the F/E for this project. It got me thinking on what others find to be their favorite. So what do you use most often and why?

Only ones I've used are the Liberty full-extension that I got at HomeDepot. I used these on the sideboard and the dresser thingy I posted the otehr day. Nearly idiot proof installation, and readily available since there's a HD on every third corner nowadays...

I have yet to use drawer slides in a project, but a friend just gave me a few sets of Knape and Vogt 1300 Plus drawer slides, 20" and 75 lb capacity.

Can anyone tell me how they stack up to the competition?

Scott---Where did you get the CompX, and for how much?

Dan,

Woodworker's Hardware, Range in price but I bought 20 pair of 20'ers (roughly) for $127 shipped. That's about $6 and change a pair. Lats I looked HD glides where in the $13-14 range.

Best deal I have found on 3/4 and full extension slides is here:

http://www.gliderite.com/

but they only sell them by the box. The cost, including shipping, is typically $3 to $4 per pair.

Full-extension is the only way to go. I get mine at Lowe's for around $16 for a 24". I love them.

You actually talk your client into standing inside the drawer? I have to try that sometime. :p

I did a Google on k.v. 2800 and just came up with what appears to be a Swedish site - no English so......do you have link to where one could find them? Thanks

CSH has some nice slides for a reasonable price. They also have a self-closer full extension slide that I have used for seveal projects and I liked its operation.

The slides I use are the Drawer Slides, Full Extention. Much better priced then $16 a set, you can buy in pairs or bulk.

I usually incorporate on of the KV8400 series full or extended extension slides unless the drawer is very small. I really like the ability to access the entire length of the drawer. Woodworker's Hardware has these for a very reasonable price.
