I have game cameras at my cabin that use SD cards. I'd like to get a card reader that can hook to my TV using HDMI or USB so I can view the pictures and videos on the TV. Does anyone know where to get such a device, if they're even made? I checked Best Buy and they didn't have anything.

Thanks
Jerry

Do you have a laptop with HDMI-out? If so, use a card reader attached to your laptop to view the pics. Some laptops like my Dell have integrated SD readers.

No sir, no laptop and no smart phone.

I have two adapters in my camera bag, they both have usb plugs. One accepts the older SD cards and the other accepts the newer microSDXC cards. I can take either type of micro card and using the adapters plug them into my TV or computer.

I have several SD to USB card readers if that is all you are looking for. I seldom use them because my TVs and computers accept SD cards directly. I just looked on Amazon and there are literally dozens of different offerings like mine. The Best Buy website also shows a very large number of them. They are quite inexpensive.

Might want to steer clear of this one. I bought one, used it once, it worked ok, but read the reviews. Not a good choice. There's a good reason it's only a buck and a quarter.

Here's one of many devices (https://smile.amazon.com/Player-Digital-Drivers-External-Devices/dp/B00F37K6VS) that do what you're wanting. Many disc players(DVD, Bluray, 4K) have this functionality, as well.

Even if an SD card/USB adapter doesn't work - it should - you could copy the files from the SD card to a USB flash drive and plug the USB flash drive in. The still pics are likely .jpg, not sure about video format.

If it worked okay, who cares what the reviews say? It worked!

OOOhhhh I think this is what I've been looking for. I didn't know it's called a media player. Thanks Robin.

Did you read some of the reviews? Some buyers lost images.
It does seem like they are just trying to cut their losses. $1.29 and free shipping?!!!
