<p>
I&#39;m new to this fourm but have been making art on my 600x900 80 watt Rabbit Laser for 2.5 years now. Here is a bit of what I do https://www.instagram.com/technicianofthesacred/ Recently I picked up a 4x8 off craigslist. So far so good but I&#39;m looking at upgrading aspects to make the machine work better for me... The laser was created for engraving into marble, while I am primaraly cutting wood so there are several things I&#39;m trying to dial in. http://www.sign-cnc.com/a/en/Products/laser/Marb/0307/57.html&quot;]http://www.sign-cnc.com/a/en/Products/laser/Marb/0307/57.html (&quot;</p>
<p>
I know this community is full of experts so I figured you might have some insight on upgrades and resources.</p>
<p>
1) I&#39;m looking to step from the reci 80 to a 130 or 150 watt. I&#39;m looking at the W6 130(1111$) vs W8 150(1700$) priced from http://www.laserplanet.us Are there any other brands of tubes I should look at or better places to buy from. What is the big difference between 130 and 150?</p>
<p>
2) I need a new bed, right now I&#39;m cutting on mdf that I&#39;ve shimed to sit flat. I&#39;ve found https://www.camfive.com/usa/camfive-slat-work-table-for-models-cfl-cma10050.html&quot;]CAMFive (&quot;[url) Slat Work Table for 850$ and the shipping is going to be crazy since it&#39;s an 4x8 bed. Do you have any suggestions on any other places that might have something similar or any other options that would work (ideally in the oakland/bay area).</p>
<p>
3) The Laser pen and the thing it slides into that holds the final mirror is really bad on my machine. Until recently the threads of the object the pen sides into were stripped and it would screw up the job. I used a thread glue to hold it permantly so it works fine now but I&#39;d like to upgrade the whole system. The Pen is around 10 inches so I havent been able to find much online to replace it, maybe there is a good way to extend it. I would love to replace the whole setup with something easy to adjust and durable.</p>
<p>
4) The Exaust built into the machine didn&#39;t work well for the cutting wood, it was just 2 holes in the side. I used the plastic sheets to enclose the machine and suck smoke out from the room. A very temp solution. I was thinking of building a small box on the laser where the exaust directly hooks to pull directly around the cutting area. Do you feel that will cause too much drag on the laser?</p>

Do you have any other ideas? Thanks for any help and insight you might have, Adrian</p>
