Got one of those on closeout , back around 1996 or 1997. That beast is all Cast Iron and HEAVY!!! Needed to move it today, so the Furnace man can install the new boiler. Could hardly move it. Had to wiggle side by side, to get it to move around on the basement floor.

2 questions.

1. Don't have the owners manual right now, anyone know what that Jointer weighs?

2. Is it possible to install 4 locking rolling casters , so that it would be easier to move ?

I just moved ours a few days ago, on the stock Sears leg set, no casters on this one.

I would guess around 150 - 175, just a wild guess.. two guys moved it.

I built mobile bases for most of my machines welding up angle appropriate size for the load.

Used free old bedframe angle for the lighter ones like 14" bandsaw.

If no welder, one can easily make a base of wood w casters, fancy or simple as you want.

In the case of this Jointer, not very heavy, I would just do a frame of corner lapped 1x4.

Don't forget that swivel casters can reduce and offset your effective footprint size affecting machine stability, so plan for that. Marc
