If the handle is bone it's some type of Victorian era special thing used to test for guest table savvy. If it's got a plastic handle it's a former contender for late night TV products that will "change your life and amaze your friends".

Does it look like that is the original shape of the blade?

The blade shape looks like some form of soft or semi soft cheese knife. It looks like it has some form of serrations which seems odd to me for a cheese knife.

I guess what I'm saying is I don't know.

Clarence,

I had (have?) a knife that looks a lot like that. I have always thought that it was a citrus (lemon/lime) knife. The blade is too narrow to be a cheese knife and the serrations would not be useful to slice cheese.

Very close, it looks like it may be a tomato knife.

Perhaps it is a grapefruit knife?
