Hi guys, first post here. I’m looking for plans handle tote for a wooden plane. I gave a wooden jack that gas a broken tote and I want to make it look like my jointer. Thanks.

Howdy Chad and Welcome to the Creek.

There are quite a few threads here on restoration of wooden planes. The problem may be each maker had their own way of making the tote. You may need to remove the tote that is in the plane and copy that. It may be wedged in, glued in with hide glue or have a bolt holding it. It could also be a combination of these or more.

Look closely at the broken one. On my wooden try plane the front side of the mortise is angled at something like 10 degrees, and the tote matches that. I believe that was a pretty common way of doing them.
