The last issue of Woodworker's Journal has an article about making a nice looking card table with folding legs. However the leg brackets recommended are from Rockler http://www.rockler.com/card-table-leg-brackets and the reviews are 25% 1 star. Rockler often has unique and useful items such as this but their sourcing or manufacturing leaves much to be desired if you look at the reviews.
Does anyone know of a better folding leg bracket?

I made a card table a couple of years ago in 2012 and used the Rockler bracket you referenced.

The Rockler illustration is wrong. There is not pin through the leg where the brace goes. It is a philips head shoulder wood screw that goes through the steel and into the leg. All four of mine latch securely and I've never had a problem with them. Here are a couple of photos of the brackets on my table.

I would suggest calling Rockler and seeing if their current brackets are constructed like the ones I purchased a few years ago and asking if you are not happy with them if they can be returned.
