How can I fix this

My daughter's dining room table leg broke and when I went to see if I can repair it I found it was not made of wood. It is some kind of plaster (I think). Not only that but it is hollow as well. Made in China. Photo's attached.

What adhesive do you guys think would hold it together or what other repair suggestions do you have. All I can think of is epoxy.

If the white piece in the first photo can be removed and made longer, I would see if it could be6-8" longer and then fit the leg over it and pour in epoxy from the bottom end to fill the cavity around the extended post.
