My family and I started looking into our family tree about a year ago. We knew that, on my fathers side, we had two major figures in the war of 1812. And for the most part my fathers side was rather easy to link toegther.
The challenge, and in the end the biggest reward(find I should say) was on my mothers side. My mother is of direct Italian heritage...with her parents comming to the states and speaking little to no english. Below is a link we found, and verified, to the oldest link to our family. It is a long read...but very interesting to read. My mothers maiden name is Kastrioti.
Also, we worked with a company that helps link family tree's together. It is a very fullfilling experience.
