When I went to look at new mail this AM, I had two new messages and NO, ZERO, NADA, old messages. The deleted items folder was intact, but the missing messages weren't there. What happened? Is there anything I can do about it? There were some pretty important things there I'd not like to lose.

Carl, any time that I need an answer on issues with OE this is my go to site.
This guy has the fix for most any problem in OE, many folks think that his site is the best on the net for OE stuff.

EDIT: He includes ways to back up your OE data so that it is not lost if there is a problem with your OE folders.
