There's a Delta DL40 lathe that's up for sale, but I can't find much information on it. It's really priced quite out of my price range, but I'm interested in finding out more about it. Any insight or info that you know about this machine would help.

Comparatively, how does it rate against a Delta 46-450 lathe?

It's a big heavy duty lathe that had many,many VS drive problems. Whats the asking price if you don't mind?

$2500 CDN. Doesn't seem like a very good price, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, google seemed to turn up old, dead posts regarding questions about the DL40's VS. Thanks for the info so far.

How is it, aside from the VS problems?

I know of two in my area, one is used daily in a production set up and has run well but Delta has given him 4 or 5 VS drives over the past ten years. The second sees light use and has the newest drive and was bought for $800USD in the last year or so.
