I recently started a new project...a curved hall table. Much of the inspiration came from Derek Cohen’s recent curved sofa table (thanks Derek!). A build thread will be sometime in the future.

Faced with cutting a curve in a 4 1/2” thick glue up without a bandsaw to be found, I decided it was time to give the hand tool equivalent (or at least from what I could come up with) a try...the bowsaw. Have thought about purchasing one in the past, but really didn’t have an immediate need. Well, now it seemed I did. Based on a few recommendations found here in the archives, I purchased the 600mm bowsaw from Glenn at Woodjoy Tools.

Must say, a very nice tool (Well done, Glenn!). The curve is somewhat gentle, so the wide blade was able to make the curve just fine. And track incredibly well. First cut made...more to go. Definitely burned a few more calories than had I had a bandsaw, but I am quite impressed with the results.
