Sliding Dovetail For floating Vanity

Hi all,

Out of all of the ideas I have come across for these floating vanities I am going to assemble, this method seems like it would be very fast and efficient

here is the left side i made in sketchup (right side is mirrored)

6 steps:
1.The back will slide into the dovetail on left and on the right side.
2. The Top (17" depth) slides into the dovetail on the left and the right sides, then ends at a 3/4" Dado that is .375 deep on the back piece
3. The bottom (17" depth)slides in the same way the top does
4. Since I am going frameless, edgeband with solid wood (1/2") onto the exposed front and router down with flush bit and plate. The exposed bottom and top pieces will have 1" x .75" stile that butts up against the inside left and right walls.
5. Screw the top 2x4 (massive rail) onto the back and bottom
6. Attach to studs using #10 cabinet screws

Everything is TB3 and the solid wood edgeband is TB3 and clamped.
3 dovetailed drawers - with tip on blumotion undermount slides (42.75" wide drawers)



Does this setup seem like it will hold 350+ pounds?

edit: Will increase depth overall by 3"

Seems like a lot of effort using dovetails out of a production environment (such as this RTA video) and they don't need to be tapered. You could do the same with butt joints that are screwed together, or biscuits/dowels. Should be plenty strong enough as long as your material is up to snuff (3/4 BB ply or similar)
