OK since everyones posting all this great stuff I thought I'd better try to catch up. Sorry for the photo quality. One is an Acorn Ornament 1-1/4" dia. x 2-1/4" tall using mesquite/maple with an ebony perch and a textured walnut base. Second is a maple/cherry/ebony ornament about 2-3/8" dia x 7-3/4" tall. This is my first on both of these so don't be to harsh on me. Thanks for looking.

Hi Keith,

I have been working on ornaments for the last two weeks. Your first ones are outstanding. One can really get addicted to them, so many different variations.
Keep going, nice work.

Nice work, Kieth! especially on the ornament. I'll be into them my self shortly and always have to burn through three or four sticks til I start getting the icicles looking proper. You nailed it on yours.

Each of these show you have a tool expertese for small delicate work which has served you well, and will be useful in the future, no I do not write fortune cookies. These pieces are very nice.

Keith, how could we possibly be "Harsh" on you - THOSE ARE FANTASTIC!

Real delicate work there, especially the icicle on the ornament - how'd you do that without it breaking?? It'd take me a hundred times to make one without breaking and it sure wouldn't look that god!

Great Job!

Both pieces look really great Keith. You did a wonderful job on both.

Thanks to all for your comments. The key to turning the icecicle on the ornement is the tool. I use a 1/4" round skew (from Bob Rosand) and start from the end and turn one drop at a time working back to the headstock.

I just keep coming back to this thread and open that picture and stare at it. When I start drooling, I get back to work.:D
