Does anyone know where to purchase the router bits for the Porter Cable 4212 Dovetail Jig? Even the Porter Cable website does not seem to list them. Also, I thought that Whiteside was making these bits, but their website does not show them either. I would like to have a 2nd set as a back up.

The dovetail bit is 17/32", 7*, part#43776PC and the straight bit is 11/32", part#43743PC.

Yes, I know.

On the big auction site that begins with an E and ends with a Y click on E__Y stores and then enter Big Leroy's tool shack. He is a knowledgable guy, helpful, ships stuff FAST!
He's got the bits you're lookin' for.

Pete

I have a question regarding the PC dovetail kit. I just recently purchased it, and am doing my first project (an 8 drawer dresser) with the dovetail kit. It came with (2) 1/2" shank dovetail bits. I have managed to shear off the bits (both of them) at their skinniest point. The first one surprised me, and I wrote it off as a manufacturer's defect.

Now that I have broken the second one off, and haven't even finished the second drawer I think it is user error.

Does anybody have any suggestions. I'll be heading to Woodcraft on Monday for a replacement or two.:(

I am no genius , but I use the porter cable jig and you might be setting your bit too deep. Just a thought.
