I'm making a jig that requires a door to open down with spring hinges. However, the hinge cannot be on the inside as the door will be acting as a guide/stop. I'm trying to create a sort of miter box that only cuts 90° at a specific, consistent thickness. The distance of the miter slots from the closed door will determine the thickness. The material is fragile so the door needs to open down after the cut so the material can gently be slid out. That means the hinges must go outside and let the door fold down. If that type hinge exists does someone know where I can find them? If not is there some other way to accomplish my goal? TIA.
