I was a bit bummed when the article finished with this -

Researchers say the toe was made with some kind of hardwood, of which they have narrowed down to two specimens.

Why not tell us the two possible specimens? Did they run out of ink?

A little research revealed Egyptians imported ebony from Africa and huge amounts of cedar from Lebanon. They also used acacia, sycamore, pine, and juniper.
