Hi John,

They look a little crude but, they probably could be made to work. :D

Those things will never work. Call me when you get sick of them. I can always use them for paperweights.:D

John,

This is a woodworking forum and NOT a wall art museum :p Those thing will never touch wood and you know it

Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing and bringing out the green envy in all of us.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.
These will be workers. Granted for "grunt" work I use a couple of St. James Bay Thumb and Chariot planes. But after that these come out and get used.
The A5 is available from Tools for Working Wood. Great price on an excellant tool. Greatly underpriced for the way it performs.
Thanks again.

John---That Ray Iles plane is obviously tearing holes in your precious wood!!! In the grand tradition of self sacrifice that permeates this forum, I offer to take it off your hands, and send you, in it's place, a well known, time tested Bailey #4 which will not distress your materials to the degree that the more obscure tool which has been foisted upon you. I, in turn, will suffer the inadequacies of the Iles until suitable repairs can be made, if indeed that is possible.

I've got an even more pressing question: John, you wouldn't be interested in adopting a middle-aged, "slightly" used, novice woodworker??? Yeah, I'm a bit overweight but, I really don't eat that much and would even be willing to sweep the shop floor!:D :D :D Those are beauties, John! Ahhhhh...Only in my dreams!:)

That's a very nice assortment John. In fact it your post is a prime example of what I like to call "tool porn". Garrett Hack let me play with one of his Holteys at his shop a couple of years ago and I was quite impressed that the performance was even better than its looks. Use them in good health.
