Need some help identifying plane iron and building a kanna

I bought this plane iron a long time ago at a garage sale - it was in the tool chest I purchased. The body of the plane was not there, and I'm not too familiar with japanese planes. What kind of plane iron is this, does it serve any specific purpose?

Also, can someone point me to a resource for information on building a plane body for this? Thanks in advance.
