Just finished the finish on this Tuesday night before heading out of town for work for a couple days (as well as managing on the trip to detour by the place where I had gotten the curly pecan for this to pick up some more).

The front skirt is a bent lamination. Wood used is Pecan and Mesquite with Poplar for the drawer sides and back. Tailed tools were used, though most of the joinery was done with hand tools, including the drawbored M&Ts on the front skirt. The drawbore pins were done with a shop made dowel plate (my first attempt at that). The top is solidly glued to the front skirt to give it stability with only the ~1" section under the drawer. Sliding DT sockets were cut (tailed router) under the back edge of the top with DT'd blocks fit into them then glued to the back skirt to allow for wood movement on the top. Figure 8s would have been easier, but I didn't have any and don't like metal anyway. The finish is a coat of BLO then French Polish using 1 part garnet shellac to 3 parts blonde.

Very nice Jerry. I particulary like the accent on the ends of the top.
Great from fit and finish

The drawer looks a little challenging.

One of the benefits of tailed tools. A plunge cut along the fence on the Table saw, then finished up with a handsaw. Had to make the cuts on the ends perpendicular to the back edge of the table, so had to lay out the final fit of the skirt and legs to the top, then strike perpendiculars.
