A while back the pastor at our church announced that the trailer that is used for events away from the church was stolen. He asked if anyone willing to help replace items would contact him, so I did. Two of the items were crosses used for worship and Ameas walks. The larger cross is used for the walks. Anyway I volunteered to help. Here they are.

The center is Basswood bordered with Black Walnut. The inlaid cross is ebony. Finish is Danish Oil and Wax. A wrought iron base is being made by another artisan.

Very nice work, Chuck. I like the chanmfered edges on the first example, and the maple burl base on the second is beautiful. I may have some similar projects in my future...a friend's mom is an Episcopal priest, and she's been taking about having me make some type of crosses for her. I'm just waiting for more details.

Thanks for the pics -

Absolutely stunning!! A great contribution.
Was I mistaken, did you say Burl Maple? I would have guessed granite.
Man that polished up nice!
