Making dowels

Ok, I have done this before but never get it right, so help me out please...

I want to make a 1/2" dowel so I cut a 1/2" square blank and use a 1/4 round over correct?

and for a 3/4" dowel cut a 3/4 blank and use a 3/8 roundover.

So if you already know how, why are you bothering us????

Your procedure is correct. I use a fence and rotate the cut up so I keep a square edge on the table surface for each cut. I also use a feather board to keep the stock tight against the router table fence.
