Griz G0555X Upper Guide Rod Upgrade Possible?

Greetings.

I have Grizzly G0555X Deluxe bandsaw. I noticed the G0555LX verson as a rack and pinion upper guide rod. Has anyone attempted/been successful with upgrading the free fall upper guide rod to the rack and pinion?

Not a real necessary feature, but nice to have. I have the LX, and did fiddle a bit to get the rack/pinion to "track" properly.
I would think that changing out the system would be a bit problematic.
