I walked out to get our newspaper this morning and found this device on the ground near the mail box. At first glance it looks like a USB memory but the connector is all wrong.362634

Any idea what it is or what it does?

Don't have a clue, but you might leave a note for the mail carrier in case he dropped it. Maybe part of scanning equipment for the job?

My guess is that it is a memory stick to download photos or video from a camera. A lot of them had different style connectors before USB became standardized.

If you find something like that (or those little USB thumb drives for that matter), it is better not to try to use it. No telling what kinds of viruses, etc., may be on something like that.

Old Zippo cigarette lighter. Needs a new cap...but they have a lifetime waranty.

Not sure, but I think James Comey would like it back.:)

I think John is on to it. I'm guessing that the mail carrier uses this with whatever he logs in a pkg. delivery, i.e USPS tracking device.

Door stop. Holds mailbox door open to keep mail cooler on a hot Sumer day.
