Why is it that the sprayer on the Kitchen Sink will work when the aerator is installed on the end of the kitchen faucet, but when I take the aerator off the faucet, the sprayer will not work with the cold water, just hot water ? Works with hot or cold when the aerator is attached .

Very strange, so, you are saying that if you remove the aerator, turn on the cold water, the external sprayer does NOT work?

Does it turn on if you place your hand over the running water coming from the faucet causing a bit of pressure back-up and causing water to spray everywhere from the faucet?

Sprayer built into the faucet head or a separate one? The diverter valve works via flowing water pressure being present. Maybe the back pressure is inadequate? Cup your hand over the facet head to create some back pressure and see if it starts to work.

I am wondering if there is some sort of water saving limiter built into the faucet itself, that is not part of the water saving aerator
